I used board paper for this and that's it. But I recommend that if you have laminating machine laminate the bookmarks so it won't easily be ripped.

On Learning A New Craft

Since we have less crochet made to orders now, I take this chance as a break and make other craft projects like this,

and this one.

Aside from my craft projects for 2015, I am learning a new craft. I am starting to make grosgrain bows like this pinwheel bow that can be attached to a soft band, headband or clips.

A photo posted by Maye Domencil (@mommymaye) on

I also plan to work on felt cloth and in fact, I already made a Facebook page for it. I will share it soon once I have posts on it. For now, I am collecting ideas and will share tutorials real soon, which will be shared here. Just need to buy craft tools. I am so excited! Please do watch out for it.

Have a great day!

DIY Spiderman Invitation

Last June, our son celebrated his 5th birthday. Yearly since his first birthday, Daddy A and I do our best to give him the best party ever. Last year he had a McQueen themed party. This year he had a DIY Spiderman party.

Like the previous years, I was the one who design and made the invitation. I searched inspiration on the net and I came up with this design.

DYI, Spiderman, Invitation, Birthday Party

Then Daddy printed this on a photo paper using our Brother DCP-J100 Printer that we have purchased last February.

The invitation turned out really nice because of the printer high quality results.

Daddy checked the ink level and he was surprised because the level does not drop that much even if we printed about 30 4R-sized invitations. That's because of the low ink cost feature of Brother DCP-J100 Printer.

That's the DIY Spideman Invitation. My son loves it!

The Felt Cloth Bows

The short crochet break we had gave me a chance to explore other craft materials like felt cloth. I remember that I have few sheets in our box and I waste no time looking for what crafty things I can do out the felt cloths.

Luckily, I got a batch of MTO felt cloth bows and I must say these are easier to make as compared to crochet bows.

Crafty Things at Wellmanson

If you are a regular reader of Momaye's Diary, then you might already know that we went to Divisoria a week ago. We braved the heavy traffic and rain, but all is well since I have finally gone to the Wellmanson in Tabora.

Wellmanson is located at 855 Tabora Street, Divisoria, Manila. I have gone to Tabora so many times but this was the first time I saw Wellmanson. Well, maybe because only recently that I have known there's also a Wellmanson in Tabora. I thought their store is at Quiapo only.

source

Wellmanson is selling yarns, ribbons, buttons, fabrics, hair clips, needles, beads, and other sewing and handcrafting accessories. They are selling these at wholesale and retails prices. It's way cheaper than other craft sites I know. That's why I am so happy I found them there. And if other girls palpitate when they see bags, shoes, dress and the likes, ako naman my heart beats faster than usual when I see craft things and accessories, ribbons and yarns. Haha! No kidding, that is so true.

Anyway, sa dami ng mabibili I can't choose what to buy at first. I was like looking around and kept telling Daddy, "Dad, ang daming ganun o... O ayun ang dami." Haha. I don't know if the people notice how ignorante I was that day. And when my wisyo got back, here's what I bought.

Alligator clips (100 pcs @180 pesos), clips (100 pcs @90 pesos), small pearls (7 pesos per necklace), glue stick (2 pesos each), tapestry needles (40 pesos per pack), black beads (1 pack @40 pesos), ribbons (sale at @20 & 38 pesos each roll), and Familia acrylic yarns (10 pcs per pack @70 pesos)

So tell me who would have not palpitate when you these items. These are just few as compared to what you can buy there. I also saw pala accessories for bracelet making. That's why I told Daddy we will surely go back there one of these days (maybe next year).

For all crafty people like me, Wellmanson is a place worth visiting for. Like them on Facebook.

Have a crafty day everyone!

Do It Yourself: Handmade Cloth Slippers

This is my very post of DIY here in my craft new site. I have several DIYs at the my personal. You can see them HERE. From now on, I will be posting all DIYs here.

So for the first post, I made pairs of slippers for Matt for home use only. The one we bought for him doesn't fit his feet well so he slips most of the time. The last time he slipped gave him a bleeding lips so I told Daddy we better make comfy and well-fit slippers for Matt.

Please bear with me if I don't know well the terminologies in sewing. I am still trying to learn those. Oh by the way, Daddy Allan gave me an anniversary gift. Tadaaaan!
