Before the community quarantine took effect in our country, I already started a small garden at home.
I planted sitaw, ampalaya, cucumbers, okra, lettuce, and others.
In my 7-months of planting vegetable experience, some are quite difficult to grow in a particular month. For example, I couldn’t grow tomatoes last June. The seeds will germinate but as soon as I transferred the seedlings, the stem rots and suddenly the plant dies.
With this, I googled a plant calendar found out that tomatoes are not suitable for the said month when I planted it.
Below is a simple guide on what to vegetable to plant every month. (Photo Source: Bureau of Plant Industry)
I hope this helps you in choosing what vegetables will be grown in your urban garden.
