10 Free Scrapbooking Fonts

Before I became a crochet geek, I was so addicted with scrapbooking. In fact, I have so many scrapbooking templates, embellishments, backgrounds, frames, etc saved in my PC. Even I am not so much into it now, I am using those to design my blogs and make layouts for invitations and tarpaulins.

I love to download for free so I am sharing with you 10 Free Scrapbooking Fonts from FONTSPACE

To download, just click on the photo and a "save as" screen will pop out. You will be asked to save the zip file. When you already save the file, right click then click "extract here". Find the "true type" file fonts and then save it to your "fonts' folder under Control Panel.

You're done and you can now use the fonts!

That easy =)

Pan-Grilled Liempo with Mixed Veggies

Last Sunday, Mommy asked me if I want to cook grilled liempo and I agreed. However, we came home a bit late for lunch so I decided to pan-grill the liempo rather than broiling it.

Ingredients:
1 kilo pork liempo
2-3 leaves dried bay leaf
1 tbsp dried oregano leaves
¼ cup of lemon grass stalk, chopped
2 tbsp ground pepper
2 tbsp salt

Instructions:
Rub the meat with the remaining ingredients and set aside for at least 15 minutes.

Pork Liempo Marinated
with Dry Herbs
In a pre-heated pan, place the marinated pork liempo and cook each side for about 5-10 minutes.

Serve with steamed rice and mixed veggies as side dish.

For the mixed veggies:
Melt 2 tbsp margarine or butter with a 1 tbsp of cooking oil. Add the veggies (carrots, corn kernel and frozen peas) and stir until cooked and coated with butter or margarine. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve with iced tea or your favorite drinks.

Crochet Terms

I still consider my self new to crocheting. I am still learning the terms and techniques that might be useful for me.

When I first saw a crochet pattern and see all the abbreviations, I was like reading a paper with unknown language. Lol. Thank God my husband is so patient with me and he taught me how to read a crochet pattern, as well as the crochet terms and abbreviations.

So I made this chart just in case you want to learn how to crochet. Just click on the photo to enlarge.

Next time, I will teach you how to make single crochet, double crochet, etc.

Happy crocheting!

Paradusdos

Glutinous Rice Balls
This is also called as Ginataang Bilo-bilo or Tambutambong in Ilocano.

I remember when I was a kid that this merienda is always present on whatever occassion  especially in barrios.

The conventional way of making the main ingredient of this snack is by soaking glutinous rice overnight and bringing it to market for grinding. Good thing there are already glutinous rice flour in the maket making the preparation less hassle.

Photography Tip: What to Shoot After the Rain?

Thinking of what to shoot after the rain? Flower? Perfect! But not only flowers gives a magical effect on photos after the rain. You can also get outside and take photos of foliage or leaves. In this example, I used the Talimun (Talimum paniculatum).

Again, you don't need to wait for the rain to get such effect. All you need it a water sprinkler (Shhh...this is my secret...LOL). Voila!

Another tip: this plant is edible. I used to include this in sinigang.

Ginataang Kalabasa at Sitaw

ChemDad Cooks, Easy recipe, ginataang kalabasa at sitaw, pinoy dishes, Pinoy recipe, simple recipe,

I love this dish especially with alimasag or shrimp. So better share this one.

You will need:
¼ kilo shrimp or ½ kilo alimasag
½ kilo squash, peeled and cut into chunks
1 bundle string beans, about 10-15 pieces cut into about 2 inches
2-3 pieces green chili
1 cup coconut milk, first extract
1 cup coconut milk, second extract
Onion, minced
Garlic, minced

Here’s how to do it:
Sauté onion and garlic. Add shrimp or alimasag and stir fry until it turned orange. Add the coconut milk 2nd extract and simmer. Add squash and string beans. Simmer until veggies are cooked. Add the first extract coconut milk and bring the heat to the lower possible. Simmer until oil starts to appear. Add green chili and simmer for another minute. Adjust the taste by adding salt.

Tip/s:
Do not stir when you already added the first extract coconut milk. This will make the coconut milk curdle instead of releasing its oil.

Slowly But Surely

I am visiting our mini garden and I found tiny snails. You can compare its size to the ants nearby (the orange ones).

This reminds me of the old quotation "Slowly but surely". The snails are slow movers but every move, they make sure that they are on the right path towards where they wanted to go.

Here's another angle:
