Kwek-Kwek

Kwek-kwek

Just like I promised, here is the other famous street food that you can prepare at home – Kwek-Kwek.

You will need:
25 pieces quail eggs, boiled and peeled
1 cup cornstarch
½ cup all-purpose flour
½  teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon annatto powder
2 cups chicken stock or plain water
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking oil for deep frying

Here’s how to do it:
Prepare the batter by mixing half of the cornstarch and the remaining ingredients except cooking oil.

Roll the eggs in the remaining cornstarch then roll in the prepared batter. Deep fry until cooked. Serve with spiced vinegar or chili-hot sauce.

Tip/s:
If you are having hard time removing egg shell of boiled eggs, try adding 1 teaspoon of baking soda when boiling the eggs and see the results.

You can also use chicken eggs for this.
