Learning To Play Piano

Playing piano is one of my dreams. When I was younger, I wanted to have my own real piano. But we can't afford to buy a piano that time. So I contented my self with a small piano cake my cousin gave us and I promised that one day I will a real one. That's why when I already afford to buy a piano, I bought one for my son who's just 2 years old then. (Read: Photostory: Our Little Pianist) 

But it's only after 4 years that he'll be able to play his first ever piano piece and guess what is it...

Yeah, it's Twinkle-twinkle Little Star. For a first timer, it's the easiest piano piece to teach right? And I was right because after a few minutes of tickling, he managed to play it on his piano. 

I think it's time to enroll him to a piano lesson class, especially summer break is coming. I know he's now ready to learn to play piano and I was just an excited mom, haha. Also, I can see he's very interested with music and so I will support him in his journey. I wish to see him recording his own song in a music studio equipped with dbx driverack at MF.

Bed Room Ideas for Our Little Boy

After more than 6 years of co-sleeping, our little boy agreed to "wean" from us and have his own bed. 

Though he still stays with us in our room and our beds look like this now. His bed used to be attached to our bed. But since he agreed to de-attached his bed, I arranged our beds like this.

This is his bed now. He's been sleeping here for almost 6 months now.

Here are all his stuffed toys.

And his character pillows! You probably have an idea now what are this boy's favorites, right?

But sooner, he will have his own bedroom and he liked this idea. So while we are preparing for him, I am starting to look for bed room designs for our little boy. Since he loves cars, these designs would surely make him want to sleep on his new room.

Those are my top picks for now. Our plan is to combine all the his favorite characters and he loves that idea so much, However, I need to consider the room size. His new bed room is the smaller room next to ours. Since it's like an attic type, we need to consider the size of the furniture we will place.

Aside from the space, a good portable air conditioners for small room. Yes, we preferred to have a portable air conditioner so we can move it anywhere inside the room. It also don't require installation and it doesn't need to be mount on the wall. 

But wait, this space saver idea is love.

Custaroons Recipe

Custaroons is derived from the word custard and macaroons. It is actually macaroons but has a taste of custard or leche flan.

I was actually planning to share this recipe before the holiday season. Because of busy schedule, ngayon ko lang na-post.

These custaroons, together with the mason jars, were made as presents our colleagues at work.

Mason Jar with Custaroons

This sweet treat is good if you are counting the calories. I used Sugar Blend in this recipe. Sugar Blend gives the same level of sweetness but half the calories.

Custaroons with Sugar Blend

CUSTAROONS

Ingredients:

400 grams desicated coconut

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup Sugar Blend

4 large eggs

1 tbsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Preheat oven at 175ºC.

Using hand mixer at medium speed, cream butter and Sugar Blend until fluffy.

Add egg one at a time with mixing after every addition.

Add condensed milk and vanilla extract.

Mix until well-blended.

Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix flour and desiccated coconut.

Fold into the egg-milk-butter mixture.
Mix well.

Line small muffin pan with a cupcake liner.
Put about 1 tablespoon of the prepared mixture.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until top becomes golden brown.

Cool and serve.
