Crochet Iron Man Mask

Our little boy is obsessed with Iron Man and shades. That's why when I got a little break from taking crochet orders, I waste no time and made a crochet Iron Mask for him.

It took me less than an hour to finished this Iron Man mask and our little boy loves it. It's not too obvious noh?

How to do it? I used thick acrylic yarn for this and a 3.5mm hook. I used this free pattern crochet simple mask. I just did some modifications and I used 3 yarn colors. Here it goes:

Using light blue yarn.
Ch 23, sl st into first ch to make a loop. Then Ch 25, sl st into 23st ch from hook to make second loop. Fasten off.
This will create two loops connected by 2 chains.
Ch 2, HDC into next 2 chs, 30 HDCC into the loop. HDC into the back of the center 2 chs, make 30 HDC in next loop. Sl st and fasten off.
Using yellow yarn.
Attached the yarn to where you fasten off. Sl st. Ch2, HDC2tog across the center 2 sts, HDC around until you reached the Sl st you made. Sl st and fasten off.
Using red yarn.
Attached the yarn to where you fasten off. Sl st. Ch2, HDC in the next 12 sts, 2DC in the next 8 sts, HDC in the next 26 sts, 2DC in the next 8 sts, HDc in the next 12sts. Sl st and fasten off.
You can use an elastic band or do chains on each side of the mask like what I did and just tie at the back.

  5. Wow, well done! I wish I am as crafty as you, sis. The most I can do for my girls are sketch drawings of their favorite cartoon characters.
