Palitaw

Palitaw means “to get float”. Ths Filipino snack is simply named from it since cooking this is simply by placing the mixture in boiling water and wait until it floats.

You will need:
½ kilo glutinous rice flour

Coating/Topping: Mix thoroughly the following
¼ kilo white sugar
1-2 cups grated coconut
½ cup sesame seeds, toasted

Here’s how to do it:
Add water little by little to rice flour until it formed like a dough. Scoop about a spoonful and form into ball. Using your finger, press the middle until flattened like a disk. Drop into a rolling boil water and wait until floats. Drain and set aside over banana leaves and top with the prepared mixture of grated coconut, sugar and sesame seeds just before serving.

  4. This is my lola's favorite and everyone at home. When we went to Primero Casa Filipino, they also served this plus latik instead of using sugar. Bagay din!
