Sizzling “Hearty” Sisig |
Mommy and
I started to watch our calorie daily calorie intake since we used the Myfitness
Pal App. Through this method, we will shed extra pounds slowly but safely
rather than having a crash diet like the Military
Diet which we halted on the second day.
Sizzling “Hearty” Sisig |
Sisig is
one of our favorites but thinking about the calories it has (293
calories for every 50 grams) makes me reject this meal in our weekly menu.
To satiate our craving for this food, we look for possible alternatives and one
is to use puso ng saging or banana blossoms which I also used in "HeartyBurger" recipe.
Using such alternatives can does not only save you from calories or cholesterol but also trick picky eater kids. They are actually eating veggies without their knowing.

Just like the real sisig, this vegan sisig best served over sizzling plate.
SIZZLING HEARTY SISIG
Ingredients:
1 medium sized puso ng
saging, shredded
1 medium sized onion,
minced
1 85 grams Reno Liver
Spread
¼ cup calamansi juice
1 tbsp. mayonnaise
1-2 pieces siling labuyo,
chopped (optional)
1 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tsp oil
1 tsp butter
Direction:
Mash shredded puso ng
saging with salt until the extract has been expelled. This is to remove bittery
taste of puso ng saging. Wash with enough water to remove salt. Set aside.
In a wok, saute onion and
add the prepared puso ng saging.
Continue stir-frying until cooked.
Add liver spread and
calamansi juice.
And the rest of ingredients
except butter and egg.
