Tiramisu ala Chemist Dad |
At first I thought that Tiramisu is a Japanese
dessert only to find out that it was originated in Italy.
Tiramisu (from Italian, spelled tiramisù, [tiɾamiˈsu],
meaning "pick me up" or "lift me up") is a popular
coffee-flavoured Italian dessert. It is made of ladyfingers (Italian: Savoiardi, [savoˈjardi])
dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks, egg
whites, sugar and mascarpone
cheese, flavoured with cocoa.
The recipe has been adapted into many varieties of cakes and other desserts. (Source: Wikipedia )
Glad to share my own version.
Ingredients: Graham crackers, all-purpose cream, soft cheese, coffee, cocoa powder |
You will need:
1 pack Graham’s Honey Crackers
250 ml
all-purpose cream, chilled overnight
120 grams
soft cheese (I used Milkana Brand)
¼ cup
condensed milk
Cocoa
powder unsweetened
Strong
Coffee solution (2tbsp of instant coffee dissolved in 1 cup of water)
Here’s how
to do it:
For the
filling: Whisk all-purpose cream until it doubles its volume. Add condensed
milk and soft cheese. Make sure to be blended thoroughly. Set aside
Dip Graham
Hney Crackers in coffee solution and lay on your mold. Spread 1/3 of the
prepared filling then sift with cocoa powder. Repeat two more times. Chill
before serving.
Finished Product |
Tip/s:
You can add rum on coffee solution and the filling.
You can also use chocolate Graham's Crackers for more chocolatey tiramisu
looks very easy to do and less complex too! graham biscuit is really a life saver. it makes any refrigerated cake fun to do!
