The other day, together with my colleagues, we had lunch at Rustica-Concepcion, Tarlac. One of the dish they ordered is the Ensaladang Kangkong (I didn't take a photo of it. Nakakahiya.)
When all of the order was served, I remember one dish I made with kulitis the other week. They are look very similar.
Aside from stir-fry, here is another easy-to-do recipe using kulitis - Ensaladang Kulitis.
Ensaladang Kulitis |
ENSALADANG KULITIS
You will need:About 300 grams kulitis leaves (Chinese Spinach), blanched
Green mango, cut into strips 4-5 pieces tomato, chopped
1 medium-sized onion, chopped
1-2 tbsp shrimp paste or alamang
1 can sardines in oil, drained
Here's how to do it:
In a bowl, mix tomato, mango, onion and shrimp paste. Set aside.
In a separate or serving bowl, lay the blanched kulitis, top with the prepared tomato-mango mixture and sardines.
This is perfect paired with fried or inihaw na isda and steamed rice, then you will eat with bare hands.
Nakakatakam at ang healthy nito!
ReplyDeletemedyo dahan-dahan lang sa bagoong. hehehe
DeleteLooks yummy. I might look too dumb by asking this but can I buy kulitis at the local market? Or probably SM?
ReplyDeleteActually, I tried to look kulitis in the local market when I read your comment and I found some stalls selling it.
DeleteAnother delicious mouth watering dish! I can imagine myself eating this dish with bare hands.. sarap!
ReplyDeletelalo na kung nasa bukid area ka under the tree.
DeleteI know how we bloggers are so tempted to take pictures .... I smiled when you said "nakakahiya"... I felt that a lot in the US since I felt they were NOT used to it! Although, with Pinoy friends, I really asked them that I would!
ReplyDeleteYour ensalada really looks good!
Nakakhiya talaga. But if you are with your friends and realatives cguro, just tell them "I am going to blog this kasi." Pwedeng reason yun. hehehe
DeleteMukhang masarap and healthy. :-)
Haha! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know the name of that seaweed here pero gusto ko din ung ar-arusip or arurusip. May nakikita ako dito sa market pero natatakot ako na bumili. Di kasi ako sure kung saan galing yun. Miss ko na din kumainn nun.
DeleteIt looks good especially with mango in it.. but I'm curious what is kulitis?
ReplyDeleteSome called it spinach but it looks different from the one sold in the supermarkets. Some called it chinese spinach. This usually grows in the backyard especially during rainy season.
DeleteThat's an interesting and really colorful dish.. have yet to try it though
ReplyDeleteYummy!!! Looks so bright and fresh. Natawa ako when you said nahiya ka to take a photo. I guess makapal talaga face ko, coz I would usually say "WAIT, picture muna!" to whomever I'm eating with. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the "bosses" kasi. Pero kung friends lang, I will not hesitate to take photos talaga. hehehe
DeleteI havent heard of kulitis til this time! So it is chinese sipinach so it must be very very healthy!
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of kulitis, too! Can we use kangkong instead? hehe Btw, I love sardines. Pwede ito pang diet ano?
