Baked Spaghetti

Just like I mentioned in my past post, sayang naman ang init kaya lubus-lubusin na. Here is another meryenda suggestion. For spaghetti and baked mac lovers this one is perfect – baked spaghetti.

Baked Spaghetti
BAKED SPAGHETTI

You will need:
Spaghetti cooked the usual way

For the toppings:
¼ cup butter
1 onion minced
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup all-purpose cream
1 cup grated cheese
1 cup water

Here’s how to do it:
Cook your spaghetti the usual way. In a baking dish or ramekin, place your cooked spaghetti and set aside.

Preheat the oven to 175ºC while preparing the creamy-cheesy topping.

Sauté onion in butter, add flour and continue stirring until cooked. Add water and simmer with continuous stirring. Add all-purpose cream and grated cheese. Simmer until thickens.

Pour over prepared spaghetti and bake for 12-15 minutes or until topping changes color from white to creamy white or light yellow.

Tip/s:
You can tell that the flour is already cooked when it turned into light brown.

You can also use bread crumbs as an alternative to flour and use evaporated milk instead of water. Just dissolve the bread crumbs first before adding to the sautéed onion.
