One our colleagues gave us a bag-full of red onions
from Nueva Ecija. Mommy told me that those are good for Bistek. So here it is.
You will need:
¼ kilo pork, sliced thinly
2-3 pieces large-sized onion, sliced into rings
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup calamansi juice
1 tsbp ground pepper
2 tbsp brown sugar
Cooking oil
Here’s
how to do it:
Marinate the pork overnight
using soy sauce, pepper and calamansi juice.
Stir-fry pork until
tender. Remove from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, saute onion rings
until bit translucent. Set aside.
Into the same pan, pour the marinade, add ½ cup
water, brown sugar and let it simmer. Bring back the stir-fried pork and onion
and simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
