Fiber-Loaded Champorado

This is one of the traditional meals in our country and best enjoyed with dried fish of tuyo. However, for those concerns about their diet, they might think twice having this meal. It mainly consists of glutinous rice and sugar which we know high in calories.

In this case, I made a bit experiment in order to still enjoy the said food without any guilt.

You will need:
1 cup glutinous rice, soaked overnight
1 ½ cup oatmeal
½ cup sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder
Evaporated milk for topping

Here’s how to do it:
Boil about 1 ½ liters of water. Drop in glutinous rice and simmer until thickens. You may add more water if needed. Add powder and sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes with continuous stirring. Drop in oatmeal and simmer for few minutes. Serve hot with evaporated or fresh milk on top.
